2012 MoPAS Day of Percussion at MU

Saturday, February 25th, 9 am
Stotler Lounge & Whitmore Recital Hall

This year MU will be hosting the Missouri Percussive Arts Society Day of Percussion! Guest artists will include the Caixa Trio (Julie Davila, Julie Hill, Amy Smith), Kansas City Symphony percussionists (Joseph Petrasek, Chris McLauren) and drumset clinician Sam Wisman. Admission is $5 for PAS members and $10 for non-PAS members. Contact Dr. Gaines for more information.

MU Graduate Percussion Ensemble Video

The University of Missouri Graduate Ensemble recorded this piece in the Summer of 2011 at the MU Corner Playhouse. This is the second movement from Emmanuel Sejourne's Martians Tribes.  

Welcome New Percussion Faculty

MU is pleased to welcome Rhett del Campo and Ryan Borden to the adjunct percussion faculty. They come as a welcome addition to the growing percussion studio.

New Book

Sequential Studies for Four-Mallet Marimba, Level 1Dr. Gaines first book, Sequential Studies for Four-Mallet Marimba, Level 1 will be published this Fall. This book breaks down four-mallet marimba technique from the very beginning. It includes 8 new etudes and pieces for beginning marimba by Julia Gaines, Brian Tate, Keith Larson, Tracy Thomas, and Ricardo Souza.
